Dining across multiple outlets and an extensive breakfast buffet draw praise, and unique experiences such as Thai cooking classes, batik and shadow-puppet workshops, and a complimentary boat shuttle to Koh Hong round out the appeal. Not really. The resort fronts a scenic mangrove-lined Andaman shore rather than a classic sandy swimming beach. Guests use the resort's complimentary boat shuttle to nearby Koh Hong island for sand, snorkeling and open-sea swimming, and enjoy the infinity pool and private villa plunge pools on-site.
Phulay Bay sits in Nong Thale, north of Ao Nang, roughly 40 km from Krabi International Airport (KBV), around a 40-to-50-minute drive depending on traffic. The resort can arrange private airport transfers with butler coordination, and Ao Nang's beach and shops are about 13 km away.
Reserve is Ritz-Carlton's most exclusive tier, with only a handful of properties worldwide. Phulay Bay, which opened in 2009, was the first. Expect a small 54-key footprint, private pavilions and pool villas, dedicated 'Ton Hong' butlers and bespoke local experiences rather than a large conventional resort.
